YGG Play Announces Gigaverse as First Game Publishing Partner

July 31, 2025

YGG Play, the publishing arm of Yield Guild Games (YGG), has brought on the onchain RPG Gigaverse as its first third-party game partner. Gigaverse and YGG Play have hit the ground running with an activation spanning both their games, including a Gigaverse-themed board in LOL Land and LOL Land-themed skins in Gigaverse.

This partnership is coming off the heels of LOL Land’s launch, which laid the groundwork for YGG Play’s pioneering efforts in the Casual Degen genre. Gigaverse is primed to advance this new category through its early success and sharp execution of casual, snackable gameplay with degen outcomes. With the hit game as a strategic partner, YGG Play is establishing itself as the publishing destination for the best streamable, social-first experiences in Web3 gaming.

“Gigaverse is a perfect fit for YGG Play. Anyone can jump in and start playing,” said Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG. “I have Gigaverse on one window and LOL Land on another. These games show how Web3 gaming is catering not just to gamers but also to Web3 natives and Casual Degens.”

Gigaverse: Built by Gamers, for Gamers

Launched on February 12, 2024, Gigaverse is a nostalgic onchain RPG that taps into one of the most beloved eras of gaming and gives it a uniquely Web3 twist. Currently, the game is live on Abstract and has seen massive success in its first few months, amplified by developer GLHF’s grassroots community-building efforts.

Before GLHF, co-founder Dith had his first big break in Web3 with a viral NFT mint that soared to the top of OpenSea’s charts in 2022. This caught the attention of Proof of Play, where Dith led the go-to-market strategy before joining the fully onchain RPG Pirate Nation. Dith’s time at Pirate Nation was when he first entertained the idea of launching a Web3 game of his own.

To gather funds for this project, Dith launched a Genesis NFT collection called GLHFers. The collection was a smash hit with over 1,300 ETH in trading volume to date. Like Gigaverse, the GLHFers collection was initially launched as a no-roadmap project — the community that formed around the project had no idea a game was going to drop a little over a year later.

GLHF held a mint for its succeeding Gigaverse ROM NFT collection in February 2025 to commemorate the launch of the game, which would give immediate access to Gigaverse along with bonus drops to in-game items and materials. The collection sold out in 10 minutes, generating over US$1 million in volume. Today, Gigaverse is one of the hottest games in Web3, having generated over US$6 million in annualized revenue in its first three months.

“Gigaverse is already a great game with fun mechanics and great revenue. Partnering with YGG Play means we can reach an even bigger player base and benefit from YGG’s experience and scale,” said Gigaverse founder, Dith. “It’s rare to find a publisher and partner that just gets gaming culture, has broad market expertise yet deeply understands local nuance, and is able to move at lightning speed. We’re excited for what we’ll achieve together.”

Redefining the Game-Publisher Dynamic

In many ways, Gigaverse is an outlier in the Web3 ecosystem. Unlike most new Web3 game launches, Gigaverse is entirely self-funded, with no investor dollars going into the game’s ongoing development. Gigaverse also has no marketing spend and no KOL campaigns in place. Instead, it has adopted an internal creator program, relying on longtime community members to create content around the game instead of third parties. This organic approach to user acquisition, player retention, and game development makes Gigaverse a perfect match as YGG Play’s first third-party partner.

YGG’s lasting legacy in Web3 gaming is its unrivaled ability to rally organic gaming communities around new releases in the industry through questing programs, tournaments, and IRL events. With the community Gigaverse has already built in its first few months, YGG Play is well-positioned to supercharge this growth via its upcoming activations and beyond. Most importantly, YGG Play’s publishing model enables a smart contract-enforceable revenue share that ensures parity between the publisher and the game.

Developers in the gaming industry do not typically have insight into their real-time earnings. After managing the distribution, marketing, and revenue collection for a game, publishers would send payments to developers periodically, based on an agreed-upon split. Through the power of blockchain, YGG Play is introducing a more transparent and verifiable approach that records and enforces revenue-sharing onchain. This helps foster trust, autonomy, and alignment between publisher and developer, creating a more balanced foundation for building and monetizing games.
