Yield Guild Games Completes 135 ETH Buyback of $YGG on Abstract

Following the successful launch of the game publisher, YGG Play — and the release of its first title, LOL Land — Yield Guild Games (YGG) has completed a buyback of the YGG token in line with its treasury and resource allocation policies.

Using profits earned from LOL Land revenues, the 135 ETH buyback transaction was initiated on July 31, 2025, worth US$518k at the time of purchase. The 135 ETH was transferred out of the LOL Land gaming wallet into a fresh wallet for the transactions.

The purchase of YGG tokens was done via the public market over a 36-hour period. The newly acquired YGG tokens were then transferred to YGG’s main treasury multi-sig on Abstract in two transactions, test and balance.

“There has been a lot of negativity in Web3 gaming lately,” said Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG. “But we believe it is here to stay, and we are no stranger to the ups and downs of each cycle. We are at a good place right now, and this buyback reflects YGG’s continued focus on long-term ecosystem development. There’s a lot more coming for YGG in 2025 — from upcoming game launches to enhanced platform features and expanded use of the YGG token within the community.”

YGG’s recent expansion into game publishing has added a powerful new dimension to its existing community-first business model. The philosophy for developing LOL Land was to make an approachable and light game that anyone, even non-gamers, can play and enjoy. LOL Land is just the beginning of YGG’s efforts to bring engaging, inclusive games to its growing ecosystem.

LOL Land launched with a partnership and collaboration with the beloved Web3 IP Pudgy Penguins. Players can earn in-game points that may be used to access certain token-based rewards, subject to availability and program terms.

YGG has more partnerships and announcements set to release in the coming weeks. The plan is to continue growth and accelerate from the momentum created by the successes of the last several months.
