Ruyui Scales Its Crypto-Native IP with Roots of Embervault on the YGG Play Launchpad

May 14, 2026

Onchain soulslike RPG Roots of Embervault is the latest title to join the YGG Play Launchpad through a third-party publishing partnership with animation and gaming studio Ruyui. This collaboration introduces Ruyui’s pixel-art world of heroes and monsters to the YGG Play ecosystem, accelerating user acquisition as Roots of Embervault prepares for a broader international rollout.

Starting May 14, 2026, Casual Degens can dive into integrated skill-based quests on the Launchpad to earn rewards while exploring the world of Embervault.

Building the Ruyui IP through Casual Degen Gaming

Roots of Embervault, currently playable on Abstract Chain, is part of an expanding world where players build their characters, explore dangerous lands, defeat monsters, and navigate a player-driven economy.

Led by co-founders Petek and Yan, Ruyui has already established a dedicated core audience for the title and maintains a 46% retention rate, signaling deep player loyalty. This high level of engagement has driven US$38,000 in revenue from a community of 1,500 monthly active users (MAU).

These metrics position the title as a rising star within the Casual Degen category of lightweight games built for crypto-native players.

Players can collect the main character, Bob, via Telegram to use in chats and to unlock special in-game loot boxes. By pairing its IP with social elements and designing game features like Abstract Runes, which allows players to earn rewards by burning in-game items, Ruyui creates a highly interactive loop that appeals to onchain players who value participation in a game’s economy.

“Our ambition is to build Ruyui into one of the most recognizable IPs in the world,” said Petek, co-founder of Ruyui Studios. “But in traditional publishing models, developers are often forced to give up ownership of their IP. YGG Play stood out because they help games scale and reach new audiences while allowing studios like ours to retain ownership of the IP they’re building.”

APAC Expansion Powered by the YGG Play Launchpad

The partnership supports Ruyui’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, where YGG has maintained an active community of over 100,000 players since 2020. By leveraging the YGG Play Launchpad, Roots of Embervault integrates quests that reward players for their active engagement and skill-based progression.

“Teams like Ruyui are building exactly the kind of fun and compelling crypto-native experiences our Casual Degen audience wants,” said Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG. “Roots of Embervault has a lot of potential as a breakout IP. There’s a big opportunity to bring its story to our community in APAC, where players value games that reward actual skill.”

The collaboration coincides with the game’s upcoming localization efforts, which aim to make its lore and gameplay accessible to communities worldwide. With dedicated growth support and ecosystem integration, Roots of Embervault is well-positioned for sustainable expansion into new markets as YGG Play continues to drive the Casual Degen category through 2026.
